If an exercise feels misaligned; whether it's too easy, too difficult, or the correction seems off, this usually indicates one of three things: you're in an active re-leveling period, the system needs more data to calibrate your level accurately, or there's a delivery issue we need to address.
When this is expected behavior:
During re-leveling over your first few sessions
Dioma intentionally tests your boundaries by presenting exercises slightly above and below your assigned level. This variation helps the system confirm your actual proficiency. You may see a B1 exercise followed by a B2 exercise as the algorithm narrows in on your placement.
When you're ahead of your assigned level
If you're consistently performing above your current level designation, it takes time for the system to gather enough performance data to reassign you. You may encounter material that feels too basic until the algorithm accumulates sufficient evidence to move you up.
When something is actually wrong:
Delivery mismatch
Occasionally, our delivery algorithm misfires on nuanced grammar. While the underlying curriculum is expert-designed and CEFR-aligned, the system that generates your specific exercises is still being refined.
Correction errors
If a correction feels inaccurate or the explanation doesn't address what you wrote, this is a gap between the curriculum design and the delivery mechanism. These instances are rare but do occur and we'd love to hear from you about them.
What to do:
Skip exercises that feel completely inappropriate for your level, this won't affect your progress negatively
Continue through re-leveling periods; the system needs a full session to adjust accurately
Flag specific issues using the feedback button or by emailing help@dioma.com with the exercise ID (found at the bottom of each exercise screen)
Why this matters:
Your feedback on misaligned exercises helps us improve the delivery engine for all learners. When you flag an issue, we review the exercise, the prompt generation logic, and the correction accuracy to identify patterns that need adjustment.
If you're experiencing frequent misalignments beyond the re-leveling periods, contact us at help@dioma.com. Include your current level and specific examples when possible.
